1. 1 World Trade Center
The Daniel Libeskind-designed “Freedom Tower,” which will serve as the anchor building of the new Ground Zero, is currently under construction and on track for completion in 2013. The building will rise to 104 stories — 1,776 feet at the tip of the spire — and will include an observation deck and restaurants.

2. National September 11 Memorial Museum
The underground museum is expected to open next year, and will contain artifacts such as a staircase that hundreds of people used to escape the Towers and the Ground Zero Cross, a pair of entwined steel beams that weathered the attack.

3. Memorial pools
Waterfalls will cascade over the walls of a pair of square reflecting pools bearing the names of the nearly 3,000 victims. The pools measure an acre each and are set within the footprint of the former Twin Towers, with a field of trees surrounding them. The memorial is set to open tomorrow.

4. Performing Arts Center
The new performing arts space will stand next to 1 World Trade Center. The project, which will include a 1,000-seat theater, was funded with $100 million from the Lower Manhattan Development Corp.

5. 2 World Trade Center
The 88-story tower will be the second-tallest building at the site when it is completed, but was designed so that it will cast no shadow over the Ground Zero memorial on Sept. 11 each year.

6. Transportation Hub
PATH train platforms are being built in what will be the city’s third-largest subway station, serving 13 subway lines. The design of the arched ground-level roof of the hub was inspired by a bird in flight. Completion is expected in 2014.

7. 3 World Trade Center
Foundation work has been finished on an 80-story office tower being built by Silverstein Properties. The building, which will include five floors of retail space, is scheduled for completion in 2015.

8. 4 World Trade Center
Construction is humming at the 72-story office building, which has reached a height of 50 stories and is set to open in 2013.
