Cooperation between teachers and police is generally encouraged, but that usually doesn’t entail running pornographic websites together.
Heidi Kaeslin, a high school teacher from Stockton, Calif., was placed on paid leave earlier this week as school authorities investigate reports that she and Richard Fields, a former Stockton police officer, managed a ring of adult websites, including teachert*****s.com and mysluttyteacher.com, from a school-issued computer.
The school district was informed of Kaeslin’s possible involvement by her estranged husband, who claims that she and Fields were having an affair. While Kaeslin has remained silent on the matter, the “about us” section of RandHEnteraintment.com, one of the sites linked to Kaeslin, offered possible clues as to how the enterprise arose.
“This company was created by a young teacher who was inspired, after her male students spent most of the period staring at her boobs, to create the ‘I (heart) teachers’ shirt,” RandHEnteraintment.com read prior to being pulled offline. “She thought, ‘Why the hell not,’ and moved forward with her idea by finding a partner, a computer whiz and a T-shirt designer. The rest is history.”
Photos have surfaced of Kaeslin wearing the shirt.
Tom Uslan, superintendent of Lincoln High, where Kaeslin teaches, told RecordNet.com that an investigation is under way.
“Absolutely no determination has been made whether disciplinary action will even be necessary,” he said, reported the news website. “We make no conclusion at this stage.”
Attorney Chet Quaide, representing the school district, told the Record that it’s unclear that any rules or regulations have even been broken.
“If the district fired every teacher who used a district computer for personal use, there wouldn’t be any teachers left,” Quaide said. “There’s a fairly high standard in state law for dismissing a tenured teacher. Misusing a computer in and of itself wouldn’t meet that standard.”
