FLASH POINTS
Natalie Portman, who won an Oscar last year for “Black Swan,” is attached to star in “Jupiter Ascending,” the next film from notoriously secretive Andy Wachowski and his transgendered sister, Lana, who used to be Larry. The duo made “The Matrix” and its sequels as the Wachowski Brothers … Bret Easton Ellis has no control over the remake of his “American Psycho” at Lionsgate (Christian Bale starred in the 2000 version), so he’s keeping mum on the project … The lead role in “Akira” — the Warner Bros. version of the Japanese cyberpunk classic “Tetsuo” — will go either to Michael Pitt or Dane DeHaan.
FRENCH BEAUTY TO SELL DUTCH CLOTHES
Vincent Gallo has a new co-star. French actress Clémence Poésy (pictured) was unveiled as the “Brown Bunny” director’s new co-star in the ad campaign for G-Star on Tuesday night at the denim brand’s Rodeo Drive store. As live models performed in the windows and DJ Mark Ronson spun, Poésy, whose credits include three Harry Potter movies and “127 Hours,” was toasted by Mischa Barton, Joel McHale (“Community”), Jack Huston (“Boardwalk Empire”), Tahyna Tozzi (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) and Ryan Kwanten and Kevin Alejandro (“True Blood”). Poésy said she loved being shot by photographer Anton Corbijn, whose work is “very rock ’n’ roll.” The campaign debuts next month.
ACTING LIKE THEY’RE POLITICALLY NEUTRAL
The Creative Coalition has always claimed to be nonpartisan. The group, led by co-presidents Tim Daly and Dana Delany, refrains from contributing directly to political campaigns. That’s their story, and they are sticking to it. So it’s no wonder the organization, which lobbies for more government spending on the arts, didn’t want reporters watching as its members cozied up with the Democratic Governors Association. Reporters were barred from Tuesday’s reception at Paramount Studios with Patricia Arquette, James Denton and Omar Epps. “The event organizers have decided to make the evening more intimate and have decided not to include press,” a flack told Flash in an email.
EX-MRS. COLLINS EYEING TAYLOR’S DIAMONDS
Swiss jewelry designer — and Phil Collins’ third ex-wife Orianne Collins — is plotting to bid on one of Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond necklaces when the icon’s Christie’s auction bows on Tuesday. Collins, who hosted a ladies’ luncheon at the exhibit, told Flash that she’s eyeing the bauble, having met Taylor as a young girl. “My grandfather used to be a pilot, driving her from Switzerland to Los Angeles,” Collins said Tuesday night at her OC Concept Store in New York, where she hosted Karen Klopp’s welcome party for What2WearWhere.com’s new contributing style editor, Jill Fairchild.
