Now that a year has passed since his wife Elizabeth died of cancer, John Edwards has asked his mistress Rielle Hunter and their daughter Quinn to move in with him and his other kids.
This according to the National Enquirer, which has been right about Edwards ever since it broke the story of his love child, destroying his campaign for president in 2008.
“Rielle is considering the move,” revealed a source close to Hunter, 47. “She wants what’s best for the [children]. If all of them living under one roof will help the kids, it’s something Rielle will do.”
Emma Claire, 13, and Jack, 11, live with the disgraced former U.S. senator from North Carolina in his huge house near Chapel Hill. His older daughter Cate, 29, lives nearby.
The two-time presidential candidate, who was the Democratic nominee for vice-president under John Kerry in 2004, reportedly begged Hunter to marry him a few days before he was indicted in June on six felony charges that he illegally used campaign funds to cover up his cheating.
Hunter rejected the proposal thinking it “was just another way for him to protect himself,” the source said, but Edwards didn’t give up, and now Hunter is relenting.
“Rielle knows the trial will be tough and doesn’t want the kids to suffer, so she’s genuinely considering his offer to move into the house,” the source told the Enquirer.
